A Wellness Way Of Life

Just what is a wellness way of life, and why should you be looking for one? It involves a holistic approach to health and wellness – making changes in your lifestyle and placing an emphasis on preventive measures. Instead of attempting to cure conditions after the fact with medications, people living a wellness way of life work to keep them healthy in every way. This means staying physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually healthy.

Maintenance Is Vital

We all know that if you don’t take care of your car, it’ll eventually stop running. So why do so few of us consider that we need to take the same kind of care of our bodies and minds? It is very important that we have routine health maintenance with our primary care physician. Without the right maintenance, we could find ourselves suffering from conditions such as degenerative changes, premature aging, metastatic cancers, reduced bone density, heart conditions, diabetes, emotional problems and a myriad of other issues.

It’s tempting to look for one big thing you can do that’ll ‘fix’ your body for life. That is why so many of us end up on crash diets, ‘miracle’ exercise programs, and supplements that all promise a magical result. Staying healthy requires continuous work. The good news is that it doesn’t have to be unpleasant.

By changing our mindset we can look forward to embracing a healthy lifestyle such as healthy eating, the endorphin rush of exercise, in order to keep ourselves healthy, in great shape so that we age more gracefully. Once this lifestyle becomes a habit, you’ll have trouble remembering how you lived any other way!  Go to Dr. Eno’s  61 Benefits of Exercise!

A Whole Body Philosophy
One important thing to remember is that a wellness way of life embraces your whole body, which includes your mind and spirit. This translates to not only how you look, but also the way you think and feel. Every part of you is interrelated and affects other parts. This is what is meant by a ‘holistic approach’ to every part of your life.

Did you know that if you eat a poor diet, it won’t just make you feel ill and overweight; it can also make you depressed or have trouble with concentration. Click Here for Healthy Eating Guidelines

The journey to wellness is one that never ends; with it you can reap many rewards along the way. Living is all about evolution. And a healthier lifestyle should reflect that process.

Perhaps you have tried in the past to make changes and despite your best efforts you have not succeeded.

A Health Coach is an excellent resource for working through change. Most times we tend not to succeed at our goals because we do not have a clear vision of what it is that we want to achieve in our lives. Working with a health coach will assist you in creating a clear ‘road map’ in order to achieve a set goal. Your coach will also hold you accountable for following through with the steps that you agree to make in order to reach your personal goal. Working with a coach will help you to look inwards at every aspect of your life- what has worked for you in the past and what is possible for the future. This produces the lifelong change.
